All Preparations Complete for House of Representatives Election in Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur. All preparations have been finalized for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Thursday in Bhaktapur. On Tuesday, the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur, informed journalists that all election preparations are complete and staff have been deployed to the polling stations starting today.

Chief District Officer Umesh Dhakal stated, "All election preparations are complete. The Office of the Chief Election Officer, the District Administration, the District Election Office, and security agencies have all carried out their responsibilities, and personnel have been mobilized."

He further informed that special security arrangements have been made after identifying general and sensitive polling centers according to the security strategy. In the district, 39 polling centers have been classified as general and 37 as sensitive. Chief District Officer Dhakal stated that nearly three thousand security personnel from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepali Army will be deployed around the clock at these centers on election day.

The district has 76 polling locations and 233 polling centers across two constituencies. The counting centers have been designated at the Electricity Authority and the Agricultural Development Training Center in Kharipati and Bode, respectively. Chief District Officer Dhakal informed that all arrangements, including the installation of CCTV cameras, have been made at both locations.

Six staff members and three volunteers have been assigned to each polling center. A total of 1,400 staff and 700 volunteers have been deployed in the district to conduct the voting. To ensure peaceful elections, more than 50 mobile teams will be deployed, and preparations are in place to dispatch additional forces immediately if any dispute arises at a center.

According to Prakash Magar, Chief of the District Election Office, teams including the Returning Officers have reached all polling centers with all necessary materials and have also conducted all-party and all-stakeholder meetings. He informed that an temporary polling center has been arranged at Bhaktapur Campus for staff not assigned to the general election to cast their votes for proportional representation.
