Hezbollah Launches Massive Missile and Drone Attack on Israel in Retaliation for Iranian Leader's Assassination

Beirut. Lebanon-based Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah has launched a massive missile and drone attack on Israel. Hezbollah has officially confirmed that this step was taken to avenge the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

According to the Israeli military, the missiles and drones fired from Lebanon landed in open areas within Israeli territory. Hezbollah launched this counter-attack in response after the Israeli Air Force previously attacked Hezbollah locations in Lebanon.

Hezbollah issued a statement saying that they targeted Israeli territory to take revenge for the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei. This Shia Muslim political and military group, which receives strong support from Iran, is considered a staunch opponent of Israel's existence.
