At Least Six Killed in Clashes Near US Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan

Islamabad. At least six people have died in clashes that erupted near the US Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan. Several others were injured in the confrontation. According to the Pakistani rescue organization Edhi Foundation, violence ensued after the demonstration became intense.

Earlier, protesters attempted to advance towards the US diplomatic mission in Karachi. Clashes reportedly occurred when police intervened to control the crowd, resulting in several injuries.

Local officials stated that security has been tightened following the incident and efforts are underway to bring the situation under control. The protest was reportedly held against the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top military commanders.
