Trump Claims Diplomatic Path Easier After Iran Strikes, Citing Increased Pressure

Washington D.C. -- US President Donald Trump claimed that reaching a diplomatic solution is now easier following military actions against Iran. Many analysts commented that this move has weakened Washington's diplomatic credibility, especially as the US conducted two strikes while negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program were ongoing.

However, speaking to CBS News, Trump stated that the US is in a better position than before to reach a diplomatic agreement with Iran.

'Clearly, it is much easier now than yesterday,' he said, 'because they are under severe pressure.' Trump also claimed that Iran's retaliatory action extemdash;attacks on US military bases in Israel and across the region extemdash;was weaker than expected. 'It was less than we thought,' he said, 'We had expected it to be double that.'
