Nai Academy Honors Playwright Vijay Malla with Centenary Awards and Medals

Kathmandu. The Nai Academy celebrated the centenary of the renowned playwright, novelist, and poet Vijay Malla in Kathmandu. On that occasion, 46 academicians, litterateurs, drama, and film personalities were honored with the Vijay Malla Nai Centenary Award and Medal for their significant contribution to the promotion of Vijay Malla's creative works.

Nai Academy Chancellor Indira Prasai honored the chief guest, Grand Critic Prof. Dr. Basudev Tripathi, with the 'Vijay Malla Nai Centenary Medal'.

The chief guest, Grand Critic Prof. Dr. Basudev Tripathi, awarded seven academicians from Nepal and India with the 'Vijay Malla Nai Centenary Award', each carrying a cash prize of NPR 25,000, for their dedication to studying Vijay Malla's creative contributions and conducting doctoral research. The awarded academicians include Dr. Rama Shivakoti, Dr. Sadhana Pant 'Pratiksha', Dr. Lekhraj Khatiwada, Dr. Gopalprasad Gaire, Dr. Bhagwanchandra Gyawali, Dr. Nityananda Khatiwada, and Prof. Dr. Krishnaraj Ghataani.

Likewise, 38 individuals were presented with the 'Vijay Malla Nai Centenary Medal' for their notable contributions to staging plays and producing films based on Vijay Malla's creative works. Those honored with the medal include Anshumala Shahi, Krishna Malla, Prof. Keshav Subedi, Gautamratna Tuladhar, Chandramala Sharma, Chaityadevi, Tika Pahari, Prof. Dr. Dayaram Shrestha, Dr. Durgabahadur Ghartimagar, Prof. Dr. Deviprasad Gautam, Prof. Dr. Deviprasad Subedi, Nagina Joshi, Nagendra Thapa, Narayanadevi Pradhan, Neer Shah, Prembahadur Basnet, Bhuwan KC, Madandas Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Mahadev Awasthi, Muralidhar, Motishobha Shrestha, Rabindra Khadka, Radheshyam Pradhan, Ritadevi Pradhan, Renu Shrestha, Laxmi Shrestha, Laxminath Sharma, Basanta Shrestha, Shakuntala Sharma, Shiva Shrestha, Shailendra Simkhada, Santosh Pant, Suvarna Kshetri, Sushma Shahi, Suryamala Sharma, Haribahadur Thapa, Harihar Sharma, and Prof. Dr. Hemchandra Nepal.

During the ceremony, presided over by Nai Academy Chancellor Mrs. Indira Prasai, Grand Critic Prof. Dr. Basudev Tripathi, Prof. Dr. Dayaram Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Krishnaraj Ghataani, Chaityadevi, Madandas Shrestha, Laxminath Sharma, Harihar Sharma, and Member Secretary Narendra Raj Prasai discussed the contributions of the creator Vijay Malla.
