Lebanese PM Warns Against 'Adventurous Steps' Threatening National Security and Unity

Beirut. Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam has sent a clear message that he will not allow the country to be drawn into any 'adventurous step' that endangers its security and unity. This message is presumed to be aimed at Hezbollah, which might intervene in favor of Iran.

In a statement, Salam said, 'Amidst dangerous developments at the regional level, I urge all Lebanese citizens to adopt wisdom and patriotism, and to place the interests of Lebanon and its citizens above all else.'

'We will not allow the country to be drawn into any adventurous campaign that threatens its security and unity,' he reiterated.

Salam's statement indicates Lebanon's attempt to maintain its internal stability and neutrality amidst current regional tensions.
