Parsa District Closes All India Border Crossings for Four Days Ahead of Elections

Birgunj. The District Administration Office, Parsa, has decided to close all border crossings connected to India for four days, targeting the upcoming elections.

Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal informed that as per the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Election Commission, and the District Security Committee, all border crossings connected to India will remain completely closed from 12:00 AM on Monday, Falgun 18, until 12:00 AM on Thursday, Falgun 21.

According to the administration, this decision was made considering security sensitivities to ensure the elections are conducted in a clean, fair, and fear-free environment. During the specified period, movement across the border is completely restricted, except for essential services.

During this period, activities such as crowding in public places, processions, rallies, creating disturbances, consuming intoxicants to spread unrest, and celebrating Holi using motorcycles are prohibited, the administration stated.

During the election silence period, activities such as campaigning by any political party or candidate, displaying flags/banners, and noise pollution activities like using DJs are also banned.

The administration warned that action will be taken according to prevailing laws if the directives are violated.
