Over 1,000 Complaints Filed with Election Monitoring Committee Amidst Election Period

Kathmandu. A total of 1,076 complaints have been filed with the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee and Monitoring Officers.

According to the Election Commission, 1,061, or 99 percent, of the received complaints have been resolved. Province-wise, Lumbini Province received the highest number of complaints with 244, while Sudurpaschim Province received the lowest with 96.

Among the received complaints, 97 were received in writing, and 979 were received through other sources such as telephone and SMS. The Commission stated that the most frequent complaint concerned the use of banners and flags exceeding the prescribed size. Complaints were also filed regarding the misuse of social media and noise pollution from playing DJ music.

These also include complaints about teachers, staff, and local representatives engaging in campaigning, hanging flags on public places and vehicles, and using vehicles without permission.
