Information Minister assures sorting out problems facing media
Kathmandu - Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet has assured of making utmost efforts to sort out the problems facing the media sector.
Speaking in a programme titled 'media persons' role in upcoming elections', organized by Sanchar Kendra Nepal here Monday, Minister Basnet committed to implementing media policy and helping in guaranteeing the minimum wages to the working journalists. He expected cooperation from the media sectors for the same.
The Minister shared that he was studying the issues relating to proportional, welfare and clean feed advertisement policies.
Speaking in the same programme, CPN (UML) deputy chief of publicity department Surya Thapa stressed on prioritizing policy rather than the candidates while covering the election issues.
FNJ President Dr Mahendra Bista sought priority to coming FNJ elections as scheduled for August third week.
The centre chair Govinda Chaulagain said that the media persons should play constructive role to make the elections peaceful and impartial.
