Manchester City Closes Gap on Arsenal After Hard-Fought Victory Over Newcastle United

Manchester. The Premier League title race has become even more thrilling. By defeating Newcastle United in a hard-fought match at their home ground, the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City has reduced the gap with league leaders Arsenal to just two points.  

This victory was a golden opportunity for City to move closer to the top spot after Arsenal dropped points mid-week against Wolverhampton Wanderers, surrendering a two-goal lead. City took the lead in the 14th minute when young star Nico Orellana's powerful strike found the net.  

Newcastle, returning from a long trip to Azerbaijan for a Champions League match, put up a tough fight against City without showing fatigue. Shortly into the game, Lewis Hall's shot, which came after a collision with Ryan At-Nouri, beat Gianluigi Donnarumma to equalize the score.

In the 27th minute, Antoine Semenyo won the ball from Nick Voltemade, and Erling Haaland provided an excellent cross pass. Utilizing this pass, Orellana scored his second personal goal to restore City's lead.  

Although Newcastle created significant pressure in the final moments of the game, Donnarumma made an excellent save on Harvey Barnes' shot, securing the victory for City.  

With this win, City has created significant mental pressure on Arsenal ahead of the North London Derby between Tottenham and Arsenal scheduled for Sunday.
