Nepal Police Club Trails Tribhuvan Army Club in Jay Trophy Elite Cup Opener

Kathmandu. At the end of the first day's play in the Jay Trophy Men's Elite Cup, Nepal Police Club scored 23 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in their second innings. With this, the team is still trailing Tribhuvan Army Club by 24 runs.

Currently, Kushal Malla is unbeaten with 12 runs and Shankar Rana with 7 runs. Amit Shrestha was out for 4 runs.

Earlier, after losing the toss and opting to bat first, Police declared their innings closed at 187 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Rashid Khan contributed the highest 38 runs for the team.

Similarly, Captain Arif Sheikh scored 36 runs while Kushal Malla made 30 runs. Wicketkeeper Dilsad Ali added 27 runs.

For Army, Pawan Karki took 4 wickets for 51 runs in 10.3 overs. Akash Chand, Sahab Alam, Naren Saud, and Bashir Ahmed took 1 wicket each.

In reply, Army declared their innings closed at 234 runs for the loss of 9 wickets after Bhim Sarki played a century inning. Sarki scored 105 runs off 113 balls, hitting 14 fours and 1 six.

Pawan Karki contributed 37 runs off 23 balls, while Naren Saud made 31 runs. 

Sagar Dhakal bowled lethally for the Police. He took 6 wickets in 17 overs. Lalit Rajbanshi took 2 wickets and Kushal Malla took 1 wicket.
