Finance Minister Khanaal Assures Election Will Happen on Falgun 21

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has stated that the doubt about whether elections will be held on Falgun 21 has been removed. Speaking at a program organized in the capital on Friday, he said that although the government formed to hold the election faced numerous challenges in its initial days, the path to holding elections in the country has been cleared following continuous dialogue and cooperation with the political parties.

He mentioned that the apprehension among the general public and in political circles about whether elections would be held for the first 5-6 weeks after this government was formed has now dissipated. The Finance Minister also clarified that the interim government has not implemented some budgetary items in order to take the country to elections.

Finance Minister Khanal stressed the necessity of sustainable tourism development. According to Khanal, the government has achieved success in certain areas regarding its responsibility to minimize corruption and establish good governance.
