Clashes Erupt Between Two Communities in Gaur Municipality, Rautahat

Rautahat. Clashes have erupted between two communities in Sabagadha village of Gaur Municipality, the district headquarters of Rautahat. The situation in the area has become tense following the confrontation.

On Thursday night in Sabagadha village, a wedding procession from the Hindu community was playing music while proceeding. A dispute arose over playing music while the Muslim community in Sabagadha village was performing 'Nawaz' prayers at the mosque during the night.

According to sources, following the argument, some individuals from the Muslim community allegedly assaulted some members of the DJ group playing the music. The clash between the two communities reignited this morning over the same issue.

Stone-pelting has been ongoing between both sides since this morning. Following the incident, a heavy deployment of security personnel has been made in the area. Rautahat's Chief District Officer (CDO) Dinesh Sagar Bhusal confirmed the incident, stating that Nepal Police SP Sitaram Rijal and Armed Police Force SP Ramhari Adhikari have reached the scene. CDO Bhusal informed that over 250 security personnel, including the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, have been mobilized to bring the situation under control.

Stating that such incidents are extremely unfortunate, he mentioned that efforts are underway for bilateral talks. The local administration has appealed for the maintenance of peace and security and stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
