Nepali Congress President Thapa Pledges to Eliminate Misgovernance and Poverty in Five Years with 'Team Nepal' Initiative

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has stated that he will eliminate misgovernance and poverty in five years by forming 'Team Nepal'.

Addressing the pledge assembly organized in Tirahutiya, Janakpur on Wednesday, President Thapa mentioned that this goal is not achievable alone.

'Team Nepal will defeat misgovernance and poverty in these five years. That is not possible alone,' Thapa said, 'The Congress will solve today's problems and move forward with tomorrow's development. The strength of the Congress is to manage, unite, and move everyone forward.'

Thapa stated that Team Nepal of the Congress will include governments from the ward level to the central level, and all political parties. Thapa assured that the President and active members will adhere to the commitments written in the pledge document.

He emphasized that Madhes, being the center for education, health, science, and information technology, must now bring about change. He stated that the Congress has come down to Madhes to make Madhes a center of knowledge.

He said, 'If Madhes did not have education, mathematics would not be taught well in the hills today. Teachers from Madhes taught in the hills. The country became educated through their education. But today, the state of education, health, and infrastructure in Madhes is dilapidated; the condition of farmers, sugarcane farmers, and the environment is dire. I have come to Madhes to solve the problem of drinking water.'

He stated that the pledge is to make Madhes capable of sustaining the entire nation. He also promised to arrange for the care of Nepali citizens abroad, even if it means establishing embassies for youth from Madhes or any part of the country.

He said, 'Now, if any Nepali, whether from Madhes or any region, is abroad, the Government of Nepal will arrange for embassies and staff to look after them.'
