Nepali Congress Unveils 10-Point Vision for Good Governance and Prosperity

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has unveiled its detailed 10-point vision aimed at establishing good governance and prosperity in the country. The party's manifesto, made public during a special ceremony held in Janakpur on Wednesday, was launched under the main slogan 'Prosperous Nepal, Respected Nepali,' which also included the 10-point vision.

The vision outlines the goals the party aims to achieve within the next five years and expresses a commitment to raising the standard of living for citizens under the declaration, 'Congress Changes, Country Changes.'

In the Nepal envisioned by the Congress, the self-respect of the citizen is given the highest priority. The party plans to build a 'Respected Nepal' where every citizen can live with their head held high, ending discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, or region.

Furthermore, the resolution proposal includes a commitment to strictly enforce the rule of law, end privileges gained through access to power and authority, and ensure administrative service delivery free from malpractice and harassment.

Party President Gagan Thapa claimed that corruption will be controlled, delays in government services will end, and arrangements will be made for citizens to receive services from their homes. In terms of economic prosperity, Congress has put forward a policy to promote the private sector and wealth creation.

The strategy document includes creating employment opportunities within the country to build an environment where youth can see their future in Nepal and prevent outward migration.

It is mentioned that agriculture will be developed as a respectable profession, and technology and market management will be properly arranged to create a Nepal where farmers 'feed the hungry and introduce the country.' Furthermore, a picture of Nepal advancing on the path to prosperity through the development of tourism, energy, and infrastructure is presented.

A commitment has been made to increase the state's responsibility in basic services such as education and health. Envisioning an 'Affording and Sheltering Nepal,' it was stated that no one should become poor due to medical treatment and a quality health insurance system will be implemented.

Similarly, the goal is to guarantee quality education so that the financial burden does not fall on parents for educating their children, and to produce a competitive workforce.

The vision also incorporates adopting a foreign policy that embraces modernity while taking pride in Nepal's unique diversity, language, culture, and heritage, and maintaining Nepal's prestige high in international forums.
