Police Arrest Two for Armed Motorcycle Robbery in Kathmandu's Sano Bharyang Area

Kathmandu. Police have arrested two individuals for robbing a motorcycle by brandishing a sharp weapon in the Sano Bharyang area of Kathmandu. The motorcycle, bearing registration number Bagmati Pradesh 02-026 P 5310, was looted around 11 PM on the night of Falgun 3 from the road near Army Medical College in Nagarjun Municipality-2.

Two individuals on foot threatened the motorcycle rider with a sharp weapon, issuing death threats before fleeing with the vehicle. Immediately after receiving information about the incident, a team deployed from the Swayambhu Police Circle conducted a search and subsequently apprehended both suspects along with the stolen motorcycle in the Tinghare area of Nagarjun-2.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 19-year-old Anis Sonam, originally from Ramechhap and residing in Thulo Bharyang, and 18-year-old Rajan Tamang, originally from Dhunche, Rasuwa, and residing in Sano Bharyang.

Spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Complex and Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai informed that both arrested individuals have been remanded in custody for five days by the Kathmandu District Court for investigation under the case of robbery and theft. Police have further intensified the investigation into the incident.
