Police Granted Custody of Medical Entrepreneur Durga Prasai for Four Days for Investigation

Kathmandu. Police have been granted permission to keep medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai in custody for four days. The Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Ishwar Raj Poudel, has authorized the police to investigate him while in custody for four days.

The District Police Range, Kathmandu, is investigating him for offenses against public peace. Durga Prasai, the coordinator of the National, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizen Protection Grand Campaign, was arrested from Bhaktapur on Monday evening.

SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, told Ratopati that the District Administration Office has issued a warrant to investigate Prasai for offenses against public peace and spreading rumors.

Prasai has been stating that if the agreement with the government is not fulfilled, he will call for an indefinite strike and prevent elections from taking place. Prasai, who was previously arrested on Magh 23, was released on personal bail. At that time, the police's Cyber Bureau took his statement based on his remarks about the election as a basis for investigation and then released him. Prasai was also arrested from Pokhara on Magh 5 and subsequently released.
