Nepal Women's Team Suffers Third Consecutive Defeat in ACC Emerging Asia Cup Rising Stars Tournament

Bangkok. Nepal has suffered its third consecutive defeat in the Thailand DP World Women's ACC Emerging Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026. Nepal was defeated by India A by 7 wickets in the match held on Tuesday at the Terdthai Cricket Ground.

Nepal, placed in Group A, was defeated by Pakistan A by 30 runs in the first match. Similarly, Nepal lost to the UAE by 18 runs in the second match.

In today's match, India chased down the target of 79 runs set by Nepal in 7.5 overs, losing 3 wickets. Opener Vrinda Dinesh contributed the highest 39 runs to the team's victory. She hit 9 fours off 18 balls.

Tejal Hasabnis scored 18 runs, and Anushka Sharma scored 10 runs. For Nepal, Manisha Upadhyay, Anu Kadayat, and Sita Rana Magar took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Nepal, batting first, displayed a disappointing batting performance. Opener Samjhana Kumari contributed the highest 22 runs. She hit 4 fours off 16 balls. 

Wicketkeeper Rubee Poddar and Kavita Joshi scored 12 runs each. Bindu Rawal added 11 runs, and Captain Pooja Mahato scored 10 runs. Other batters failed to score in double digits.

To restrict Nepal to a low score, India's Tanuja Kanwar took 4 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs. Minnu Mani took 3 wickets, and Radha Yadav took 2 wickets.
