Indian PM Modi and French President Macron to Meet in Mumbai, Launch India-France Innovation Year 2026

New Delhi. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron are scheduled to meet in Mumbai on Tuesday. The meeting will also mark the joint inauguration of the India-France Innovation Year 2026.

President Emmanuel Macron will be on an official visit to India from February 17-19 and will also participate in the "AI Impact" summit organized by India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The official statement mentioned that they will hold bilateral discussions at the Lok Bhavan in Mumbai at 3:15 PM on February 17. During this time, they are expected to review the progress made in the India-France strategic partnership.

It was stated that their discussions will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership and diversifying into new and emerging sectors. Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will also exchange views on regional and global issues of importance.

Macron's visit comes against the backdrop of the partnership between India and France in defense, space, nuclear energy, climate, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, they will exchange MoUs in Mumbai. The Hotel Taj Mahal Palace will host the India-France Innovation Forum, and the India-France Innovation and Cultural Monument will be inaugurated at the Gateway of India.

Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Madame Brigitte Macron will visit Mumbai and Delhi during their India visit from February 16-19. The Innovation Year 2026 will be celebrated throughout the year in both countries and aims to make cooperation in technology, research, and people-to-people exchange more effective.

French President Macron's visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi signals continuity in the India-France strategic partnership, focusing on cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.

As New Delhi focuses on one of the world's most important talks in the field of AI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is preparing to inaugurate the Global AI Impact Expo. It was stated that before the summit, Prime Minister Modi will welcome the delegates arriving in India and inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo 2026.

From February 16-20, the first international AI summit "Impact Summit" held in New Delhi is set to shape the global AI future.
