Prime Minister Karki Reports Enthusiastic and Peaceful Election Atmosphere After Field Visits

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that the election atmosphere across various districts of the country is enthusiastic and peaceful following on-site visits and inspections. After touring the Eastern Terai, including Morang and Sunsari, and the hilly districts, the Prime Minister noted that security sensitivity in the Terai and geographical remoteness in the hills remain the main challenges.

She mentioned that discussions with security agencies and elected representatives in Himalayan and hilly regions like Namche and Salleri confirmed that the environment is conducive for the elections. She asserted that although there is a possibility of minor disturbances or booth capturing in some parts of the Terai due to population density, the overall security situation remains under control.

In the hills, despite geographical difficulties in transportation and inspection, a peaceful environment was observed, according to her statement.

She added that the Election Commission and the Ministry of Home Affairs are coordinating regularly with meteorologists, and since the weather is projected to remain favorable until the third week of Falgun, the risk of snowfall is low.
