Nepali Congress General Secretary Ghimire Vows Representation for New Generation After Special General Convention

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire has stated that he will move forward representing the new generation. After being elected General Secretary in the Special General Convention and assuming office for the first time at the party headquarters in Sanepa, General Secretary Ghimire said that Congress has now transformed into a new form, indicating a change in both leaders and leadership.

He stated, 'We have brought about a change in Nepali Congress not just in leadership, but in policy itself. We have transformed to embody the voice and ownership of the younger generation. We have renewed the party.'

Stating that the Special General Convention has provided an opportunity to work more closely with the feelings, desires, and the public of the new generation, he mentioned that it has guided the country in the right direction.

He further stated that while preserving the glory of the Congress, a renaissance among the people has begun, which will also impact the elections. He said, 'While preserving the history and glory of Congress, a new renaissance has occurred, and this has transformed the despair of the general voters into hope. The energy of renaissance has been generated in Congress. This will bring about many great achievements, and the country and the people will benefit.'

General Secretary Ghimire stated that the Gen Z generation is present in every Nepali household and has made great sacrifices for change in Nepali history, asserting that they are the future of Nepal.

He mentioned that the demands of Gen Z are legitimate, which is why this upheaval occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24, and the party is taking the matter of maintaining political good governance seriously.

'The objective of the Gen Z movement was to establish good governance in the country, eradicate corruption, and allow social media to function freely. The Nepali Congress is moving forward carrying all these demands and issues,' he said.
