Pro-Monarchy Demonstrators Gather at Kathmandu Airport for Former King Gyanendra's Arrival

Kathmandu. Former King Gyanendra Shah has arrived in Kathmandu from Jhapa. Royalists organized a demonstration outside Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome him.

Traffic diversions were implemented for vehicles heading towards Tribhuvan Airport from Sinamangal after the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), the United People's Movement Committee led by Navaraj Subedi, and the group led by Durga Prasai began their demonstration. SP Naresh Subedi of the Metropolitan Traffic Police Office told Ratopati that vehicles traveling towards the Golden Gate were diverted via Sinamangal towards Bhimsen Gola.

Traffic police allowed those heading towards the airport from Gaushala to proceed only upon showing their flight tickets. SP Subedi stated, 'Only those with plane tickets were allowed to proceed from Gaushala towards the airport.' Other vehicles were diverted from Gaushala towards Ratopul.

Prasai, the coordinator of the Campaign to Save the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizens, has reached outside the airport.
