Election Observation Committee Deploys 700 Observers Nationwide for Upcoming Polls

Kathmandu. The Election Observation Committee Nepal has deployed 700 observers across all 77 districts to ensure the impartiality and transparency of the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.

The committee provided two days of specialized training to skilled observers on Magh 24 and 25 to meticulously study and observe the compliance status of election laws, regulations, and the code of conduct before deploying them to their respective areas.

The committee is preparing to deploy volunteer, short-term, long-term, and specialized expert observers sequentially. In this regard, 40 long-term observers are currently closely monitoring all methods and processes of the election.

They are strictly monitoring whether the Election Commission, the Government of Nepal, political parties, security agencies, candidates, and individuals holding public office are adhering to the code of conduct.

The committee stated that observers are also deeply scrutinizing the expenditure and sources of funding for election campaigning in particular. The roles of journalists, social organizations, and voters have also been brought under the scope of monitoring.

Committee Chairman Shree Krishna Subedi issued a statement mentioning that positive contributions are expected from all stakeholders to make the election lawful, peaceful, clean, impartial, free, dignified, and economical.
