CPN Chairman Prachanda Launches Election Campaign from Maoist War Shelter in Rukum East

Kathmandu. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), has launched his election campaign from Lawang in Rukum East, a location known as a shelter during the former 10-year armed conflict of the Nepali Communist Party.

Prachanda began his election campaign by eating roasted maize, a local and favored snack in the villages.

Prior to this, Prachanda visited the house and room in Lawang, Bhume Rural Municipality-7, where he stayed as a shelter during the People's War, becoming emotional while recalling the time of the conflict.

Locals gave Chairman Prachanda a warm and grand welcome upon his arrival in Lawang, Bhume Rural Municipality-7. His secretariat stated that Chairman Prachanda will remain in the villages of Rukum East until Falgun 6.

Prachanda is a candidate for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.
