Italy Coach John Davison Emotional After Defeating Nepal in ICC T20 World Cup

Kathmandu. Following Italy's victory over Nepal in the ICC T20 World Cup, Italy's coach John Davison stated that his players' eyes were moist with happiness after the win.

‘My players looked emotional after the win. The Mosca brothers batted excellently. Our bowling also went according to plan. Everything went according to our plan,’ Coach Davison said, ‘I believe this victory will take Italian cricket to new heights. I hope the news makes the front page of Italian newspapers. I believe this will energize cricket in the country.’

Coach Davison also mentioned that he had discussed Nepal with England and formulated strategy accordingly. Italy's captain, Harry Manenti, expressed hope that this victory would be a means for the players to advance in Italian cricket.

‘We are ranked 26th in the T20 international rankings. We have secured a place in the World Cup where the world's top 20 teams play. Perhaps now our ranking and the way people look at us will change. The Italian cricket team is formed by connecting many cricket cultures. There are connections here with Australian and South African cricket as well. We connect during the time we play through a lot of struggle. But we have a very good coaching team that keeps us connected,’ he mentioned. 

Furthermore, Captain Harry stated that winning the toss was also a significant moment for the team.

 ‘Winning the toss was also important for us. We made some strategic changes. We won the game today by changing some decisions that we couldn't make in the match against Scotland,’ he believed.
