Nepali Congress Expresses Grief Over Death of Madhesh Province Treasurer and Mayor

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has expressed sorrow over the demise of Pradip Kumar Yadav, the treasurer of the party's Madhesh Province Committee and the Mayor of Hanspur Municipality.

Krishna Prasad Dhakal, the acting chief secretary of the party's central office, issued a condolence statement on Tuesday, stating that the late Yadav played an active role in building the Nepali Congress organization and in Nepal's democratic movements. The Congress stated that with Yadav's passing, it has lost a promising leader.

The statement mentioned that Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa expressed deep sorrow over Yadav's death. "I am shocked and saddened by the news of the passing of party leader Yadav. Remembering the active role played by the late Yadav in building the party organization and in the democratic movement, I offer heartfelt tribute to him," the statement read.

President Thapa wished for eternal peace for the soul of the late Yadav and expressed deep personal and party condolences to the bereaved family.

Yadav, who was also the chairman of the Madhesh Province Municipalities Association, passed away last night at Norvic Hospital during treatment.
