Phidim Municipality Declared Fully Immunized Municipality in Panchthar

Phidim. Phidim Municipality has been declared a fully immunized municipality in Panchthar. Phidim Municipality was declared fully immunized after ensuring that all children under 23 months within the municipality have received all required vaccinations by 15 months of age.

The declaration of full immunization assurance was made after confirming that 273 children aged 16 to 23 months in Phidim Municipality had received all vaccinations required by 15 months, and 562 children under 15 months are regularly receiving their scheduled vaccinations.

Mayor Mitra Prasad Kafle informed that Phidim Municipality was declared fully immunized and sustainable based on the fact that the number of unvaccinated children in the municipality is zero. At the declaration ceremony held on Friday at the Phidim Municipality office, Mahesh Sunar, Member Secretary of the District Vaccine Coordination Committee and Chief of the Health Office Panchthar, presented the certificate of full immunization assurance to Mayor Kafle.

According to Mayor Kafle, Phidim Municipality is the first municipality in Koshi Province this year to be declared fully immunized and sustainable. However, rural municipalities had already declared full immunization assurance previously. Chief Sunar of the District Health Office Panchthar informed that Hilihang and Yangwarak Rural Municipalities in Panchthar had already declared full immunization assurance.

Phidim Municipality, with a population of 46,810, has 562 children under 15 months, 273 children aged 15 to 23 months, and 1,617 children aged 24 to 59 months.

In this regard, Phidim Municipality awarded appreciation letters to Ward No. 9 Lumbaphung for being the first to declare full immunization assurance, health worker Manju Seling of Lalikhark Health Post for excellent performance, lead health worker Ramadevi Neupane, Raniitar Health Post for excellent performance, and lead female community health volunteer Narumaya Rimal for playing an excellent role.
