Man Detained in Kathmandu with Large Sum of Unaccounted Cash

Kathmandu. The District Police Range, Kathmandu, has taken a person into custody along with a large amount of cash from an unknown source. A police team on special patrol arrested 45-year-old Pravin Kisan, originally from Udayapur, with NPR 1.85 million from the Thaulung area of Budhanilkantha Municipality-1, Kathmandu.

The police team from the Budhanilkantha Police Post found him walking suspiciously around 4:30 AM on Thursday. The police stated that the amount was recovered from Kisan, who permanently resides in Udayapur but currently lives in Koteshwor, Kathmandu, during a check.

Since he could not disclose the legal source of the recovered cash, the police took him into custody and initiated further investigation. According to Police Superintendent Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Kisan and the seized cash have been sent to the Inland Revenue Office, Hariharbhawan, Lalitpur, for necessary action.
