Supreme Court Schedules Hearing on Resham Lal Chaudhary's Candidacy Rejection Appeal

Kathmandu. The appeal filed by Resham Lal Chaudhary, patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal, challenging the rejection of his candidacy has been scheduled as the first item for hearing. Chaudhary's appeal is listed for hearing before the joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Nahakul Subedi and Abdul Aziz Muslim.

Previously, on Magh 11, a single bench of Justice Balkrishna Dhakal had ordered the Election Commission to submit a written response to the writ filed by Chaudhary. Furthermore, both parties were summoned to appear for a discussion regarding the interim order.

On Magh 15, a joint bench of Justices Balkrishna Dhakal and Nripadhwaj Niroula ordered the submission of the case file related to the previous judgment concerning the homicide case, as per the prior order. After the completion of the tasks according to the previous order and receipt of the case file, the hearing for the interim order was scheduled for today.

His candidacy, for which he had registered his nomination papers for the House of Representatives election scheduled for the upcoming Falgun 21 from Kailali Constituency No. 1, was rejected by the Election Commission.
