Two Women Arrested at Tribhuvan Airport for Smuggling iPhones and Apple Watches

Kathmandu. Police have arrested two women at Tribhuvan International Airport for attempting to smuggle iPhones and Apple Watches, evading customs duties.

The arrested individuals are 26-year-old Purnima Lama Rumba, a resident of Makwanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-8, Makwanpur, and 36-year-old Roshani Shrestha, a resident of Siddharthanagar Municipality-3, Rupandehi.

Police recovered one iPhone-13 Pro Max and two Lenovo laptops from Rumba's possession.

Two iPhones and two Apple Watches were recovered from Shrestha's possession, SP Rajkumar Silwal of the Airport Security Office told Ratopati.

The accused were arrested while attempting to take the goods out by evading customs. Police have sent them to the Airport Customs Office for legal action.
