CPN-UML Kaski Forms Election Mobilization Committee for Upcoming By-Election

Pokhara. The CPN-UML Kaski has formed an election mobilization committee for the House of Representatives by-election scheduled for Falgun 21. The ninth full meeting of the District Committee formed an 11,777-member mobilization committee under the convenership of acting chairman Bheshraj Baral. CPN-UML has approximately 12,000 organized members in Kaski.

Convenor Baral informed that the District Committee's secretariat has been decided to be mobilized as the secretariat of the Election Mobilization Committee. 

Similarly, an Election Monitoring and Supervision Committee has also been formed under the leadership of the party's Central Committee member Krishna Thapa. Thapa had previously received the candidacy ticket from Kaski-2.

Following intense protests from the grassroots level, his ticket was handed over to Rashmi Acharya. At the meeting, CPN-UML Central Secretary and Province In-charge Khagaraj Adhikari instructed the cadres to stand against the events of Bhadra 23, calling them a counter-revolutionary move. He claimed that a counter-revolution has taken place in Nepal under the plan of American imperialism.

CPN-UML has announced that it will intensify ward-centric activities and door-to-door campaigns to win the election. The candidates are Bainbahadur Adhikari Chhetri for Kaski Constituency No. 1, Rashmi Acharya for Constituency No. 2, and Damodar Bairagi for Constituency No. 3.
