Valley Public School Clinches Title in KVKSS Girls' Basketball Tournament Final

Kathmandu. Valley Public School has clinched the title of the fifth KVKSS Girls' Inter-School Basketball Tournament. In a thrilling final clash held on Friday at the premises of Kathmandu Vidya Kunja Secondary School (KVKSS) in Tokha, Valley Public defeated Eden Bridge Academy (EBA) by a very narrow margin of 21-19 to become the champion.

Drishya Gurung scored a maximum of 7 points in Valley Public's victory. Meanwhile, in the contest for the third place, the host KVKSS 'A' defeated Landmark Academy 28-20. Khushi Mitok of the host team contributed significantly by scoring 13 points for her team.

Selina Gurung of Valley Public, who showed excellent performance throughout the tournament, was declared the 'Most Valuable Player'. Similarly, EBA's Sanjila Magar was honored as the best 'Three Pointer' and KVKSS 'A's Annie Shrestha as the highest scorer. Kathmandu Euro School won the disciplined team award, while Landmark Academy became the emerging team.

The winning team and players were awarded by KVKSS Principal Nitya Shrestha and others. On the occasion of the closing ceremony, national basketball players Roshni Shrestha and Sony Gurung, along with senior coach Purna Neupane, were also honored. Sixteen teams competed in this tournament which started on Magh 11.
