Nepali Flags Installed at Belahia Border Crossing to Welcome Tourists

Belahia. Tourists entering Nepal through the major land border crossing at Belahia will now be welcomed by the national flag. The Belahia Village Society initiated this campaign on Sunday by placing approximately 100 Nepali flags on electric poles from the border point up to the Danda Khola bridge.

This step has been taken to give tourists entering Nepal from India the immediate feeling of having arrived in the country as soon as they set foot on Nepali soil.

Under the slogan 'Our Belahia, Beautiful Belahia,' the society has emphasized the beautification of the border area. According to program coordinator Arjun Kumar Giri, the flags were placed to inform tourists that they have 'arrived in Nepal' and to reflect national pride. These flags were provided by the Nepal Customs Agents' Association, Rupandehi.

Suman Sharma, Chairman of the Belahia Village Society, stated that the flag installation is part of the campaign to make 'Belahia clean and green.' He expressed that citizens and organizations, rather than just relying on the government, must fulfill their responsibilities towards the nation. It is believed that placing flags in the border area will enhance its beauty and leave a positive impression on tourists.

At this crossing, which sees the highest number of tourists entering Nepal via land route, beautification, cleanliness, and parking management are also being prioritized. Locals expect that making the border point organized and attractive will greatly contribute to the promotion of Nepal's tourism.
