Nepali Congress Ward Committee Members Resign Over Candidate Selection Dispute

Kathmandu. Members of the Nepali Congress Ward Committee in Gaindakot Municipality Ward Number 18 have collectively resigned, alleging political maneuvering in the selection of candidates for the upcoming elections.

The statement released by the committee reads, "Due to significant political manipulation in the candidate selection process for the upcoming election on Falgun 21, we, the entire committee and its sister organizations in this ward, have jointly resigned effective from today's date."

The women's association, Nepal Student Union, Tarun Dal, and the party's ward committee in the ward have all submitted their resignations en masse. In Eastern Nawalparasi Constituency Number 1, the Nepali Congress had nominated Balkrishna Ghimire as the official candidate.
