Raksha bandhan that is observed by Hindus and some Jains on the full moon day in the month of Shrawan, is celebrated for strengthening love and duty between brothers and sisters. It also means a bond of protection. On the day, sisters will tie a sacred thread (raksha bandhan) on their brothers' wrist to symbolize their love and best wishes.
