Gen Z Uprising: Five arrested for allegedly involved in arson and vandalism

Bagmati, Nov 13: Police have arrested five persons allegedly involved in the incidents of arson and vandalism in course of the Gen Z Uprising during last September 8-9.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at Makwanpur District Police Office, Pushkar Bogati informed that Punam Thakur, 27, and Pramod Mahato, 27, from Barathwa Municipality-1, Sarlahi, and Sagar Ghatane, 43, also known as Rom Bahadur Ghatane from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-8, were arrested for vandalizing and torching the Bagmati Provincial Assembly Secretariat building and the District Traffic Police Office.

Similarly, Sujan Adhikari, 36, and Surendra Magar, 35, from the same location were nabbed on charges of setting fire to the house of 45-year-old Sushil Paudel from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-11, Nawalpur.

They are under further investigation with permission from the Makwanpur District Court to keep them in custody.
