Trump Declares Antifa a Terrorist Organization

In Washington D.C., U.S. President Donald Trump has declared the anti-fascist group Antifa a terrorist organization. He made this announcement in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Who is Antifa?

Antifa members and those connected to its ideology speak out against radical far-right beliefs. These include neo-Nazism, neo-fascism, white supremacy, and racial discrimination. The name "Antifa" comes from the movement against European fascist powers in the 1920s and 1930s. People in this group often cover their faces with masks or wear helmets during protests so that police or other demonstrators cannot identify them.

President Trump's Statement

In his post, President Trump stated he is moving to designate Antifa as a major terrorist organization, calling it a dangerous and radical left-wing group. He also wrote that he would recommend investigating anyone who gives Antifa money under the highest legal standards and rules. During his first term as president, Trump was also a constant critic of this group.
