Trump Refuses to Meet Xi Jinping, But China Still Open to Talks
Trump Denies Rumors of a Meeting
Washington D.C. – U.S. President Donald Trump has refused the possibility of a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. In a social media post, Trump clearly stated that he is not trying to meet Xi and called the news about the possible meeting completely false.
Trump Currently in Scotland
Trump is currently in Scotland for discussions regarding a trade agreement with the European Union. While commenting on the news, he mentioned that he is open to visiting China, but only if President Xi invites him. He added that the invitation has been delayed for a long time and without it, he has no interest in going.
Ongoing Discussions Between Officials
There have been reports that the aides of both leaders—Trump and Xi—have been discussing the possibility of a meeting. If Trump visits China, it would be the first meeting between the two leaders during Trump’s second term. However, no final decision has been made yet, and discussions are still ongoing from both sides.
