Miley Cyrus Expresses No Interest in Touring Despite New Album Release

Weeks after dropping her ninth studio album Something Beautiful, Miley Cyrus has revealed she has "no desire" to embark on a tour. The Grammy-winning artist, known for hits like Flowers and Party in the U.S.A., cited the challenges of maintaining sobriety and mental health while on the road as key reasons for her decision.

A Decade Since Her Last Major Tour

Cyrus hasn’t headlined a full tour since her Bangerz era in 2014, leaving many fans disappointed. In a recent Good Morning America interview, she explained that while she could tour, she lacks the motivation. "I do have the physical ability and opportunities," she said, "but I wish I had the desire I don’t."

She also emphasized how touring makes sobriety a crucial part of her stability difficult to maintain. Additionally, she has been managing Reinke’s edema, a vocal cord condition that causes strain, further complicating live performances.

Fan Reactions: Disappointment but Understanding

While some fans, like 20-year-old superfan Phoebe Ross, find the news disappointing, they respect her reasoning. "Millions will be upset, but she’s prioritizing herself and we should support that," Ross told BBC Newsbeat. Others, like Monica Taylor, hope Cyrus might reconsider with shorter runs or festival appearances.

Artists Weigh In: Touring Isn’t for Everyone

Emerging artists, such as London-based rapper Romz, admit touring is a dream but acknowledge its toll. "Performing nightly for thousands sounds amazing, but I get why veterans like Miley might step back," Romz said, advocating for better mental health support for touring musicians.

Though Cyrus hasn’t toured, she’s made select appearances, including joining Beyoncé at her Cowboy Carter show in Paris. For now, however, fans shouldn’t expect a full-scale Miley tour anytime soon.
