NEPSE drops for sixth consecutive day

Kathmandu, March 10 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped for the sixth consecutive day today, with a decline of 20.68 points.

The market index fell to 2751.42 points.

Today, the total transaction volume stood at NPR 8.37 billion, down from the previous day's turnover of NPR 10 billion.

Among the market movements today, 44 companies saw their stock prices increase, while 192 companies' prices declined.

Meanwhile, 8 companies maintained their prices.

Notable gainers included Nesdo Microfinance, Guardian Life, and Wean Nepal Microfinance, which saw more than an 8% increase in their share prices.

On the other hand, Upkaar Microfinance and Sikles Hydropower experienced the largest price drops.

All sectors saw a decline, except for a few, with significant drops in the Hydro Power, Investment, Manufacturing, and Trading sectors, all recording losses greater than 1%. Other groups saw only marginal growth.

Regarding individual transactions, Nepal Reinsurance and Himalayan Reinsurance both saw a turnover of NPR 73 million each.

In terms of the number of shares traded, Guardian Life Insurance led, while Ghalemdi Hydropower saw the highest volume of shares transacted.
