NEPSE continues decline, drops 25.16 points

Kathmandu, March 5 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has decreased again today.

The index dropped by 25.16 points, bringing the market index down to 2,821.13 points.

A total of NPR 10.97 billion worth of transactions took place today.

Since Monday, the NEPSE index has been on a downward trend, following a period of consistent growth over the past 10 days.

The last major increase came on Wednesday after the monetary policy's semi-annual review, where NEPSE rose by 212 points, signaling a bullish trend.

However, with the recent correction of 68 points over the past three days, the market has struggled to move away from its sideways trend.

Today, the share prices of 62 companies increased, while 174 companies saw a decline.

Eight companies' share prices remained unchanged.

Notably, shares of Samaj Microfinance and Guardian Life Insurance saw a positive circuit breaker.

The share price of Green Development Bank witnessed the largest drop.

Apart from trading, all subgroups saw a decline, with the drop being less than 2%.

Based on transaction volume, Himalayan Re-Insurance and Nepal Re-Insurance are leading, with both companies' transactions exceeding NPR 90 million.
