Weather in Nepal to gradually improve from Sunday

Kathmandu, February 28 — Fog in some parts of the Terai has gradually started improving after noon, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The fog had previously impacted air travel.

Meteorologist Hari Prasad Dahal from the Division confirmed that the fog has mostly cleared from most areas after noon.

"The fog had affected the daily life, health, roads, and air transport in the Terai region, and we had advised the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the impact," he stated.

"Currently, the western low-pressure system continues to affect the country, with most areas in Sudurpashchim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces experiencing moderate to heavy cloud cover. Light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring in several parts of Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces, while snowfall is being recorded in the high hilly regions," he further stated.

Dahal further mentioned that the weather will gradually improve starting from Sunday.

According to the Department, fog is defined as visibility of less than one kilometer, and mist refers to visibility between one and five kilometers.
