Sadhus sent off with travel expenses from Pashupatinath (photos)

Kathmandu, February 28 — On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the Guthi Sansthan and the Pashupati Area Development Trust have sent off the Sadhus (holy men) who came to attend the fair at Pashupatinath Temple, providing them with travel expenses.
The farewell ceremony was held in front of the main gate of the Pashupatinath Temple, where the Sadhus were given travel allowances, accommodation, and meals until Friday afternoon.
In the past, only the Guthi Sansthan used to provide travel expenses for these Sadhus.
However, in recent years, the Pashupati Area Development Trust has started to contribute to the expenses as well.
For many years, both domestic and foreign Sadhus who participate in the Maha Shivaratri festival have been provided with food, lodging, and travel allowances by the Guthi Sansthan.
During the farewell, the Trust also gifted the Sadhus with Rudraksha malas (a sacred necklace made from the seeds of the Rudraksha tree) as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
