Buffon sends video message: ‘Namaste, I’m coming to Nepal’

Kathmandu, February 28 — Gianluigi Buffon, the renowned goalkeeper who played a pivotal role in helping Italy win the FIFA World Cup, has released a message for his Nepali fans.

In a video message, he shared that he will be visiting Nepal soon. He begins the message with a greeting in Nepali, saying, “Namaste Sabai Janalai” (Hello everyone), before switching to English to explain his visit.

Buffon stated, “Namaste Sabai Janalai. I’m Gianluigi Buffon. I will be coming to Nepal in the first week of March for the KP Oli Cup. I will be the chief guest at the event. That’s when we’ll meet. Bye.”

The legendary goalkeeper, who played a key role in Italy's World Cup victory in 2006, will be in Nepal to attend the final of the KP Oli Cup, where he will be the chief guest.

The tournament started on Sunday and the final will take place on March 3 at the Dasarath Stadium in Tripureshwar.

Buffon is widely recognized for his exceptional career and was instrumental in Italy’s World Cup win in 2006, where Italy triumphed over France in a penalty shootout, 5-3.

Buffon also played for some of the world's top clubs, including Parma Calcio, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and won multiple Italian Serie A titles.

Buffon is the most-capped goalkeeper in Italy's history and has also captained the national team during his illustrious career.
