PM Oli calls high-level political mechanism meeting

Kathmandu, February 27 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called for a meeting of the high-level political mechanism.
The Prime Minister's Secretariat has announced that the meeting will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday.
The ruling parties, the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML), had formed a 10-member mechanism under the leadership of Prime Minister Oli and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to assist in the functioning of the government.
The members from UML include Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, and Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal.
Similarly, from Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Gagan Thapa, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba are also part of the high-level mechanism.
The ruling party is currently in a crisis after the ordinance brought by the government failed to gain majority approval in the National Assembly.
The meeting of the mechanism is being held on Friday to discuss this issue.
