JSP Nepal to host interaction on controversial land ordinance

Kathmandu, February 27 — The Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP Nepal) has announced plans to host a comprehensive interaction program on the government's proposed land ordinance.

The program, organized by the JSP Nepal-affiliated Intellectual Professionals Federation of Nepal, will involve top political leaders and experts discussing the implications of the land ordinance.

The event is scheduled for this Friday afternoon at the Maitri Hall of Indreni Banquet in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. JSP Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav will serve as the chief speaker for the interaction.

Other key participants include the Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party and former Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, the President of the Nepal Samajwadi Party (Naya Shakti) and former Prime Minister, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, as well as Mahantha Thakur, the President of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, and JSP Nepal Vice Chairs Rajkishor Yadav and Mrigendra Singh Yadav.

Several intellectuals and experts will also be part of the event, including Vijaykant Karn, Dr. Umashankar Prasad, Gopinath Mainali, Shekhar Yadav, Madhav Dev, and Nagendra Prasad Yadav.

JSP Nepal has previously taken a formal stance against the land ordinance, stating that it is not in the national interest.

The party has already made it clear that it will vote against the ordinance, which it believes will lead to widespread misuse of public land across the country.

The government's proposal for six ordinances, including the land ordinance, has been delayed in Parliament, partly due to opposition from JSP Nepal.

The interaction aims to shed light on the potential dangers of the land ordinance and encourage an informed debate on the issue.
