PM Oli calls for 'complete democracy'

Kathmandu, February 27 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that the government seeks a complete democracy.
While addressing the "International Conference on Crimes of the Digital Age: Anticipation and Response" held in Kathmandu on Thursday, Prime Minister Oli said that although political change had occurred, it alone could not make people happy or prosperous.
He emphasized that only complete democracy could bring happiness and prosperity to humanity.
He mentioned that one of the elements preventing people from being happy is crime, and that humanity still suffers from scarcity and hunger.
"If people are suffering from scarcity and hunger, they cannot be happy with anything else," said Prime Minister Oli.
"We want a complete democracy. The lives in the social sector should be improved and prosperous. There must be a system to ensure easy supply of biological and human needs, and only then can we keep society prosperous, satisfied, and happy," he added.
Prime Minister Oli also pointed out that while science and technology can provide comfort and benefits to humanity, their misuse could lead to crimes, urging the need for awareness on this matter.
He stressed that good work cannot be achieved through mismanagement and that it is necessary to establish a proper system to accomplish meaningful work.
"The society has undergone significant change. It's not just about political change and the right to other freedoms. We want to be empowered in every aspect," the Prime Minister said.
"Social arrangements are progressing, and even as we talk about digital issues, a significant percentage of humanity is still living in absolute poverty," he further stated.
Prime Minister Oli also mentioned that the government is preparing to regulate social media to ensure that the rights of social media users are not violated, but he emphasized the need to stop antisocial activities.
"There is no need to debate about stopping such things; it's not just opposition for the sake of opposition," he remarked.
