Lalitpur metropolis begins road widening (photos)

Kathmandu, February 24 — The Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has started widening the road from the Lagankhel Ward No. 5 office building to the District Court and Lagankhel Junction by demolishing houses and temporary structures.

The demolition work began on Monday.

According to LMC, the demolition is being carried out to protect and expand the historical heritage site, Nhu Pokhari, located in Lagankhel.

The houses and structures in front of the pond are being removed as part of the conservation efforts.
