Nepali peacekeeping unit replaced in South Sudan

Kathmandu, February 23 — The replacement of Nepali peacekeepers stationed in South Sudan has taken place.
The final team of 211 Nepali peacekeepers from the Chandi Prasad Battalion 11th Division, led by Commander Milan Acharya, departed from Nepal last night for the mission area to replace the troops of the Aridman Battalion stationed there.
Earlier, 213 peacekeepers from the same mission, who completed their tenure and were stationed with the Aridman Battalion, returned to Nepal on Saturday, led by Chief Commander Maheshwar Silwal.
Currently, a total of 1,756 Nepali peacekeepers are deployed in the mission, including sector commanders, military observers, staff officers, two battalions, and one company, as reported by the Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information.
