Prachanda stresses on strengthening Nepal's potential

Gorkha, February 20 — Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has emphasized the need to reinforce the belief that Nepal can be built and that it is within the country's potential to do so.
He made this statement while inaugurating the 4th Mirkot Kotgadhi Festival in Palungtar Municipality 10, Gorkha.
“Water, land, forests, herbs, and human resources—all of these make Nepal a country full of potential,” Prachanda said, highlighting Nepal’s natural beauty and resources.
“But some individuals have started spreading a wrong narrative that the country has nothing, no capable leaders, and no strong political parties. This is not true. If we work with a clear vision, change is possible, and we have already initiated changes in several areas. We need to expand on these efforts in the future,” he added.
Reflecting on his time as the head of government, Prachanda mentioned the significant progress made in hydropower development.
“During my leadership, I contributed to hydropower development, which laid the foundation for prosperity not only for this generation but for future generations as well. Our efforts went beyond just eliminating load shedding; I initiated agreements for 10,000 MW of electricity export within ten years and worked on private sector contracts for electricity production within the country,” he said.
